I Do
“I do” is a reset of your clock,
decide this last turn of the fork
is right by your heart. Every now
is a close listen to how sound
you felt when your eyes first held hers.
Every change since begun leads you here,
where love, like God, always waits.
Take her hand, know its past, feel its weight.
Then, as you would a record, put the ring on.
Let your years spin, lightness and long.
